Finland’s military defence capability consists of the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the supporting joint capabilities. Development of all Services is vital for Finland ́s defence. Because the sea lines of com- munications in the Baltic Sea are vital for Finland, maritime defence must be capable of conducting ter- ritorial surveillance and repelling attacks.
